Líneas de investigación

Ecología tropical, biología de la conservación, ecología del paisaje, redes ecológicas y interacciones planta-animal.

 

Objetivo

Todos los seres vivos están conectados por sus interacciones ecológicas, formando una gran "red de la vida". En nuestro laboratorio, nosotros combinamos: historia natural, modelaje matemático, sistemas de información geográfica (SIG), extensos inventarios de campo y banco de datos para comprender la dinámica ecológica y evolutiva de las interacciones entre los organismos y cual es su papel para el mantenimiento de la biodiversidad. Nosotros utilizamos herramientas derivadas de la teoría de redes complejas para comprender el funcionamiento de los ecosistemas y como ellos son robustos a diferentes perturbaciones ambientales. La mayor parte de nuestros estudios se basan en México y Brasil.
